Why do stepper motors provide only power at speeds far below 3000 rpm? Is this to be overcome?

Yes, Sensa's InverseServo CNC solves this problem and drives a stepper motor to performances that surpasses common servo systems.

A unique four quadrant current amplifier controls the currents in the motor at all speeds and (de-)accelerations. At 3000 rpm the motor still has 80% of its holding torque. Microstepping goes to its ultimate limits here, 1/256 microstep at low speeds and dynamically increasing to 1/4 microstep at 3600 rpm

Sensa's HDM48000 control "look-ahead". For milling, this means for example, that cutting feeds remain constant under all circumstances. High speed contouring with constant feed prevent plastic from melting. The resulting surface quality is extremely high and don't need any further finishing.
